Cooking lesson
We are sure you already love Ukrainian food. If not, you will love it after one month of living in Luhansk. Many students have commented that they could not imagine surviving without borscht and pancakes after returning to their home countries. This is the reason why we are going to teach all of you how to cook many of our favorite Ukrainian dishes.
We will gather together at a kitchen, our experienced cook will show you the whole process and then you will enjoy the best food you ever eaten!

Horse riding
Not far from the centre of Luhansk is an equestrian school. The school is world renowned for its beautiful horses and brilliant sportsmen, who have recieved a number of awards at international competitions. You will visit the school, and see how the professional sportsmen train themselves and the horses. You will even have the opportunity to make a few laps on the back of this beautiful animal. An experienced instructor will show you how to ride a horse and at the same time teach you a couple of new words in Russian.
Old Soviet movies
Once a week we organize an extremely interesting and useful lesson devoted to old Soviet movies. You might ask, why not watch something more up to date and modern. Well, many of the old Soviet films are a great part of the history of cinematography in Russia and had a significant influence on our culture. They influenced many unique words, phrases and jokes that are now a part of the Russian language.
We will start the lesson with explanation of some new words and phrases you might not know. We will watch the film together, and then discuss the ideas and share our thoughts.
Real life lesson at the market
We understand how hard it can be to enter a new environment of a foreign country without knowing the language. That is why during the first week of your stay in Luhansk we conduct an out-of-class lesson at the market close to the university.
First, you will get all the new words, grammar rules, and instructions from your teacher during your class. Then, one of our assistants will become your guide into a real life situation when you will finally use all your knowledge and language skills to communicate to vendors, who often do not speak any English.
Of course you will get help, if needed, but the task is to immerse yourself into the environment of Russian language and start using it in daily life.
Real Russian bath
Russian bath for centuries was an essential part of living in Russia. People from Tsars to peasants not only washed there, but used it for religious ceremonies, to heal when they get sick, women gave birth and young couples found seclusion in there.
Spend a day at one of Russian baths and you will sweat in bath and freeze in icy pool, enjoy birch leaves massage and struggle with the heat. But after all, walking out of the banya, feeling ten years younger with skin soft and smooth like babies, you will promise yourself to come back.
Russian folk songs
Many people believe that through the songs of a nation you can look into its soul. Others say that listening to foreign songs is the best way to learn a language. For our students folk songs and lessons always combine fun with studying the language at the same time. The teacher is a professional singer. She will teach you how to sing and our assistance will explain the new words. All of the songs are easy to remember and sing. Don’t worry about your voice, just let your heart sing in Russian.
